If you’re unsure which generation you have, look at the label on the underside of the motor housing: serial numbers starting with “GC19” or earlier are the older series.

For most swing gates under 16 feet and 650 pounds, the OEM arm is the safest match. For heavier gates in the 650 to 900 pound range, we often recommend a quality aftermarket linear actuator rated above the gate weight; Ghost’s own arms can struggle on older ornamental iron gates that have picked up moisture weight over the years. Signs Your Ghost Controls Gate Motor Is Failing

• Motor hums but the gate doesn’t move. The capacitor or the gear drive is failing. This is the most common failure we see in Orange, especially on gates that cycle more than 20 times a day.
